Evolution of the Sawmill Industry on the Ottawa River
Evolution of the Sawmill Industry on the Ottawa River
At least five generations of the Joanis family were employed in the sawmill industry on the Ottawa River. This is a brief description of its growth and a photo gallery of the lumber and sawmill industries.

Francina Cameron (?) January 17 1895
Francina Cameron (?) January 17 1895
This is likely a photo of Francina Cameron, wife of William Edward Turner. In the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent cyberphotos archive, the photo is catalogued as "M. W. Turner" of Rivière-du-Loup. In all photos of females; the "M" stands for Mille or Madame. As far as is known, the only W. Turner in Rivière-du-Loup at the time was William Edward.
