Jules Joanis, likely portrait c1898

This is likely a hand-coloured portrait of Jules Joanis. The framed dimensions are 24x19 inches and the portrait is approx. 20x15 inches. On the reverse is a listing of four generations of family members (Jules Joanis, Bernadette (Joanis) Turner, Madeleine (Turner) Kelleher and Stanley Kelleher).
The portrait was acquired by Steve Alexanian, an antiques and collectibles dealer in Hamilton. His brother Dave has a hobby of trying to trace living relatives of subjects where there is available genealogy information. This led him via Facebook to my cousin once removed, Gil Joanis, of Saskatoon, a grandson of Jules.
