 | John Cullen Road (Montée Paiment) at Val des Monts In the 1850s, John Cullen promoted the development of a 20-mile road from Perkins (now Val des Monts) to the Gatineau River across from Wakefield. The road was approved and John was appointed "overseer" and his son-in-law, Thomas Kennedy, was the surveyor. It is believed that only the first 12 miles were completed. |

 | John Cullen's signature 1828 Excerpt from Point Fortune merchant John Macdonell's 1828 journal. It seems that John Cullen guaranteed purchases of two individuals, probably his workers. There are 3 signatures, the first two are likely made by clerks and the third is believed to be John Cullen's signature. |
