Anthony Cullen was a principal patron of the parish. He and wife Ursula donated a 252 pound bell to the new church. It was named "Ursule-Antoinette" in her honour.

Four generations of Cullens were parishioners of this parish in Templeton Township.

Anthony Cullen was instrumental in the creation of the parish in the 1850s. He was present at the dedication ceremony in 1857 and witnessed the official record of the proceedings.
